I was called to the BC bar in 2009 and spent eight years at a mid-size firm in Vancouver before opening Whitmore Law in White Rock in 2017.
I went solo for a simple reason: at a big firm, files move between desks. At mine, they don't. When you call, you get the person who actually knows your matter — not an assistant relaying questions to someone in a meeting.
Outside the office I sit on the board of a local hospice society, which is where I learned that estate work done well is a kindness to the living. That's the standard I try to meet.
“Flat fee for our wills and POAs, done in two appointments. Painless — which is not the word I expected to use.”
“As a first-time business owner I had a hundred small questions. She answered them in plain English and told me which ones didn't need a lawyer at all.”
